Ming-Zhu Hii is a director, writer, actor & voiceover artist.
Her directing, writing and artwork includes the award-winning short film "Intrusion", the recent installation "Dead Drop", short film "Close Observations of a Single Subject", multimedia and performance hybrids, "Until Then, Then" and "This is Beautiful" and the widely critically acclaimed theatre and installation piece, "Attract/Repel".
Ming-Zhu helms Find & Replace Films whose projects explore the female body as symbol and object; observed and observer through the poetic re-imagination of received myth and canon, classical artworks, mystery and poetry in cinematic form.
With her husband, she also runs The Public Studio: a tiny production house for special collaborative projects and practice-based conversations.
Ming-Zhu is honoured to currently be the 2018-19 Female Director in Residence at Malthouse Theatre.
