Draft two done.

Perhaps a good principle to remember is that it always takes five times as long as you assume. Maybe not a hard and fast rule for everything. But certainly for those things you think will take less than a day to write...

It's been very much true for this one. I set out to complete it in a day, and to get to a second-draft distillation of the original feature concept (although diverging entirely from the original narrative - completely different characters etc.) has taken me a week. A full week. 

I'm okay with that for now.
